Group Classes for Theatre Arts

Mary Aalgaard is forming groups for drama classes in the Brainerd lakes area. Please contact her through primoartspa@gmail.com and let her know what you'd like to see offered for drama classes.

In the past, I've done week long workshops like a day camp for kids. They spend the morning working on acting skills, writing their own play, and designing their own set. We keep it simple, yet interesting. This workshop shows kids how to create a show from their imagination and build it into a performance.

Also, Mary is a playwright and interested in forming a group of actors, and possibly writers, who would like to work on original scripts. One idea would be for older teens and adults where we'd all write a 10 minute play, then perform each others' plays at then end of the session.

Mary wrote and produced Coffee Shop Confessions which was performed in the spring of 2012 at local coffee shops and The Center in Brainerd. She's currently working on more plays and has hopes of getting into the Minnesota Fringe Fest one of these years and would love to have a team all ready to go!

The title of Mary's next play is Grace Notes: Piano Bench Confessions.
